The purpose of this website it to help our friend Marcel Dufek who was born severely handicapped (poliomyelitis). He is 33 now. All his life he has been unable to move his limbs and he has difficulty with speech articulation. You can understand him but you have to learn how.

The important thing is Marcel's brain is perfectly normal. Despite his physical limitations, Marcel's mind is fully developed and he has the same awareness, intelligence, and interests of any 33-year-old man who wants to live a "normal" life. But to do this he needs the help of people who can move his body and translate what he says.

Marcel's support from the state of Czech Republic is very good but it covers only about half of what he needs to maintain a more independent lifestyle with a flat of his own and full-time assistance.

We are looking to help him in a couple of different ways. Monetary donations are of course great, but if more people can volunteer then less money will be needed.

Either way, here is an opportunity to concretely help a specific individual based on mutual solidarity. Whether a donation of time or money, 100% of what you give goes directly to helping a man who despite great challenges in his life maintains a positive attitude and gives joy to all who meet him.
